WHO WE ARE:
The Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund is a privately funded organization, established 75 years ago. Its Board is made up of community members from throughout the school district.
WHAT WE DO:
Each year, the Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund helps more than 80 Mamaroneck High School graduates with the cost of attending college. We interview all applicants and learn about their financial circumstances. For 53 recipients in the Class of 2011, our scholarships ranged from $500 to $4,500 per year for two years, the individual award depending solely on a family’s financial need, and available scholarship funds. A Student Aid Fund scholarship can make a critical difference in a student’s ability to pursue higher education.
OUR GOAL THIS YEAR:
Last year, the Student Aid Fund raised more than $300,000, up from $222,000 the previous year. The generosity of our community in a particularly challenging economic environment is noteworthy, but so is the increased need for financial assistance. This year, as the cost of attending college continues to escalate and the severity of the recession takes hold, we expect more seniors than ever before to apply for scholarships.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
You can help make a college education attainable for many Mamaroneck High School seniors. If you have given to the Student Aid Fund in the past, we thank you and encourage you to continue your support. If you haven’t donated before, please consider making a contribution now. We welcome gifts of any amount.
